As I take this Sunday to kick my feet up
Yeah, I realize that I am a bit fed up.
Am I the only one left with a certain mentality
Or are there few people who still give a damn about reality
Is life better with facebook, myspace and Twitter Read the rest of this entry »

Earth
June 3, 2009We gotta be green in this day in age
Turn the page and listen to the sage.
Learn the topics like the tropics
Cause, global warming we gotta stop it
With these times what we’ve done to the sky
Deplete the mines and obliterate lives Read the rest of this entry »

Middle East Mess
December 30, 2008I will start this blog with a little history lesson. In August of 1953 the CIA organized a coup that overthrew the democratically elected prime minister of Iran, Mohammed Mossadegh. Many decades later the current Islamic Republic of Iran is modeled and operated in such a way that it can withstand and go against any foreign intervention in their political system, in particular against the United States and their allies.
There has been a lot of talk about Iran and their nuclear program. During the end of the 1970’s the US actually had plans and started a nuclear power plant in Iran. The US abandoned this program when the shah was overthrown. During this past decade Iran has renewed this program. The main opposition to this is the fear that Iran will use their nuclear reactors as a cover for a weapons program. Read the rest of this entry »

The Change I Want to See
November 11, 2008What I am about to write many people disagree with me. It is not typical or common but I feel that these times require is a different approach. I can say with safe ease that Americans are proud for their resiliency to help people in need. This also should go to taking the higher road. It is easier to fight mud slinging with more mud slinging. Unfortunately this is common place in American politics. Sometimes it’s not how good your policies are but how bad you can make your opponent look. This is also evident with US foreign policy.
In particular I am talking about the US-Iran relations. I have said for the last decade that the sanctions US are pointless. They aren’t doing anything except making the goods that reach Iran more expensive. There is a soda war going on in Iran and the main culprits are yes Coke and Pepsi, two US staples. It is one thing that they are present in Iran but the fact that they are written in Farsi adds another twist in this whole sanctions conundrum. This policy would have worked beautifully a century ago when there was no global economy. Read the rest of this entry »

Those Days
September 23, 2008Last week while driving home from work I heard that rapper/hookman Nate Dogg had suffered a stroke . After doing a little research I found that it was his second stroke in 10 months. That definitely put a damper on my mood. Anyone who has heard a Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Warren G or an Eminem song you know how important Nate Dogg is to a song. It is hard to find a song that Nate Dogg was a part of and the song sucked. It is hard to find, it truly is.
I wanted to as much as possible lounge around this past weekend. I knew I had some chores I needed to do around the house. The progression of thought let me to decide once I am done with all my Read the rest of this entry »

Cerebral Moment (written Tuesday, September 16, 2008)
September 19, 2008I have been rehabbing my knee for the last 9 months at Rehab United. Eleven days ago I had my last day there. I had learned a lot about body movements in general and the way my body functions, the movements it likes. I learned that I have it good. I am still a very healthy person. The fact that “I have it pretty good” hit me real hard again on my last day there.
Rehab United is also known as TheraPeeds. They help kids with physical disabilities learn how to function. I had seen it before on one of my visits. There were kids who walked extremely “pigeon toed.” They needed braces on their legs, plus some sort of walking device. I described this to my bro, who is a doctor, and asked what those kids might have. He told me they have Crebral Palsy .

So Good It’s Bad? (written Monday, September 08, 2008)
September 18, 2008Now I turn to something that must be addressed. Are the Jamaicans doping? I cannot say for certain since I am not with them but from what I do know, I do not believe that Asafa Powell nor Usain Bolt have taken anything. I do not know enough about the women to comment on whether or not they have used any drugs.
Bolt has raised the biggest suspicion, with good reason. He came out of no where to break two world record and win with incredible ease. However if you take a look at him you will see he is too skinny to be taking steroids or any off shoot of it. The only possibility that me and a few other track rats like myself see is that he found the new wave of performance enhancing drugs. It has to be something Read the rest of this entry »

First one – What Usain (written Tuesday, September 02, 2008)
September 18, 2008My goal is to write a blog every week. I feel I have a lot to say and some of the things I have said in the past many people have found interesting. My goal is to make it a consistent thing rather than something that I do once a year.
My first topic will be the Olympics. The Olympics are very close to my heart. My dream was to compete in them. I had the physical ability and mental strength but my body couldn’t take the intensity. Also, when can you see so many different sports and so many countries in one place celebrating the human spirit. I will not start talking about China and their negative actions during these games. The media did a good enough job. I will not touch on NBC’s extremely poor coverage once again. If USA is not involved in an event they did not care to show it for the most part. Even when USA is involved you will not see a live feed only delay that happened several hours ago.
